Are you living your best life as a sales person or entrepreneur, or do you find you’re working all the time on this hamster wheel of life while stressed out and not financially free, which is the exact opposite of what you had signed up for, especially now in this global pandemic? If this is you, you are not alone. I found myself there in 2008 when I lost everything, including my health, and had to pivot. Working from home for the first time with no money.
I rebuilt my life from scratch, juggling motherhood and marriage to get my life back and be recession and pandemic proof today. Now we live laptop lifestyles with our kids and are poised to travel the world together. How did we do it? Join me as I share my health and wealth and wisdom secrets, tips, tools and expert interviews to equip you to be recession proof and live your best life. My name is Louis Coffee and this is healthy, wealthy and wise.
All right. Well, hello and welcome back. This is Lois CofI. I am the founder of the Healthy and Wealthy and Wise podcast, and I’m doing something new this week. I decided I wanted to record this hive inside of my Facebook community, and I’m going to, of course, get this in iTunes later. So if you are in the kind of the the mindset you’d love to see this information live, please, please make sure that you have joined my healthy and wealthy and wise Facebook community.
And this is my monologue every Friday. I also I also record a live interview. And the live interview this week is going to be with José Reservoir. She’s my stylist. She’s actually I’m going to start working with her soon and she’s going to be talking this week about how to build wealth through your image brands and making yourself look really, really awesome. So stay tuned for that. If, again, if you want to see that live, that’s this Friday at twelve thirty Pacific Standard Time.
Good morning, Sarah. Welcome. If you guys are tuning in live, that’s the other fun part about this. I am willing to take questions on the fly. And specific to our topic today, I’m really passionate about the three tips on how creating content can make you more money now or very, very soon. So I’m going to go over those three tips and that really is foundational to twenty twenty for me. And how I pivoted well was I had created content before the pandemic hit and I was glad that I did.
And I’ll explain why over the course of these three tips for you today, if you do happen to attend the live and I might be able to field a question or two, my goal is to keep these monologues really short around ten to fifteen minutes. So today I want to talk about the three tips to monetizing and having and making sure you have content that is worthy of being monetized thanks to my, I guess, foresight, happenstance, divine fate, destiny, whatever you want to call it.
I already had a YouTube channel when this pandemic hit. I did have a database. I didn’t have an email campaign. I do have that now. I didn’t really have a blog before. Now I have a blog. I had I had a blog, but it was really, really old and from from a past life. So I started a new blog. So these are examples of what I mean when I talk about how creating content that you can then turn around and monetize.
And so I’ve been fortunate to been studying the some of the greatest content creators, some of the greatest email campaign creators, some of the greatest podcast creators. That’s another way or version like right here, right now. This is content that is being streamed live. It’s going to be repurposed and put into my YouTube channel. It’s going to be repurposed and also emailed out to my database. It’s going to be created once and it’s going to last forever.
So I’ve actually made thousands and thousands of dollars through repurposed content that I can now in turn, monetize forever. So if you haven’t already been creating your own content, my hope is today that this will inspire you to do so and to just just do it. And in fact, that’s actually my first tip. Tip number one is don’t over. Think it, just do it. I know one of my biggest fears and it was negative thoughts. It was stinking thinking.
It was people who had spoke to me in my past that held me back. I allowed them. That power and I thought, you know, what am I going to say, who am I going to speak to? Who am I? Who’s going to listen to me? Right. But here’s the deal. Who are you not to be listened to? Right, having that belief in yourself and just going out there and getting the reps. And I have a background in fitness and I use this analogy all the time.
When I started training for my first marathon, I actually kind of hated running. But after about two to three weeks, I started getting that runner’s high. I started getting excited to put my running shoes on. In fact, I even slept in my running clothes so that I could get up, not waste a moment, get my water, whatever I needed, go to the bathroom and hit the pavement and go for that morning run. And before I knew it, I became a very, very fast five, came to marathon performer.
But I started out running on the country roads of Iowa, not knowing what I was doing, wearing old cotton clothing and wearing Nike shoes. I wore my basketball shoes to run two to three miles a day. Right. I didn’t overthink it. I said, you know what? The coach says, I’ve got a train. I’ve got to get better. I’ve got to have a good endurance. This was when I was going into college and playing basketball and then I got hooked.
And the rest, as they say, is history. I went on to then coach thousands of people in health fitness marathons, triathlons, even did an Ironman, a couple of Ironman triathlons. And it changed my life. So I use that analogy for this mechanism of creating content, you might be like, I don’t know what I’m doing. You might be thinking, Oh man, what am I going to say? Am I going to look stupid? All of those things are holding you back from learning and expanding.
Eleanor Roosevelt says do one thing everyday that scares you. When I first started even using streaming heard this right here is a live streaming tool that streams to multiple platforms at one time. But when I first did that, I was like, oh, my gosh, this is insane. I don’t even know if I like the way I look at all of this. Again, negative thinking, but I did it anyway. And a year ago, actually, over a year ago, it would have been last September, October.
I started doing weekly webinars that now is repurpose content that is in my YouTube channel. Some of it’s even on my blog, on my landing pages, all of that kind of marketing create it once and it lasts forever. So don’t overthink it. Just do it. You can absolutely maybe think about things that you’re passionate about, talking about and it doesn’t even have to be business related. It could be about health and fitness, it could be about your passions, things that guide and attract people to you.
So once you start building that muscle, you want to set a goal, you know, and how much content? How much content. So that’s really step number two is what is your medium and how many times are you going to create that content? So ask yourself, what is my medium? And how many times am I going to create content, so that’s important. I would encourage you to pick one, but know that whether it’s a blog, which then you can use those blog posts in part of your email campaigns.
Right. Maybe you use your blog to put in and build in affiliate links that stay there forever that can help you get paid forever on residual affiliate income. Maybe you love the idea of playing with streaming. And I’ll actually put my streaming at affiliate link in the show notes you can get a free affiliate link or a free link to start your own streaming or that’s where I started. I was like, you know what? Before I decide to upgrade to the paid version, I want to play with it for a couple of months now.
They they don’t give you your branding. When you have the free version, you have their branding and it’s not really that sexy. No offense dreamier. I love you. Please don’t stop working for me right now. But then after a couple of months, I was like, you know what, I like this. I’m going to keep doing it. Maybe you stream live into a Facebook group. Do you have a Facebook group that could be your medium?
Do you want to stream live into your YouTube channel? Because you can stream live, actually, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, if you get approved for LinkedIn live. I’ve not had the fortune of getting approved for that yet, but as soon as I do, you can bet your bottom dollar I’ll be repurposing and streaming that content onto YouTube. Now I just I’ll stream it into YouTube. I’ll then take that link. I’ll email it out to my email list.
I’ll post it on LinkedIn. I’ll maybe add it to a landing page like this. This content right here will probably most likely be added to a landing page. Then guess what? People find it. They start studying you. They start watching you. And they’ll hire you. Let me take that a step further, if you can do it X amount of times a week, so I would encourage you to build that muscle. It’s it’s, again, very similar to fitness.
Once a week is probably not going to get you in good shape. Right. Eating clean once a week is probably not going to make you super healthy inside and help you lose weight. Right, so if you can stream or write, pick, pick an audio, pick a visual, you could do a podcast. I actually hired both of my coaches because I got to study them through podcasts. I got to observe and listen and consume their content.
And then I decided, you know what? I like these guys. I’m going to hire them. So same thing I’ve had people hire me, but it wasn’t because I only did it once, you might see me different week streaming live on Facebook and or in my Facebook community. There’s a purpose. There’s a method to my madness and making sure that I’m consistent. So what is the medium you’re going to use? How many times a week are you going to put those reps in to build that muscle to get quote unquote fit with content?
Creation. So you want to set a goal and of course, like I said, and step one, don’t overthink it and you’re going to test it, right? You’re just going to do it. You might decide for me. I wanted to do weekly webinars and I did that for a while. And then I got burnt out. I decided, you know what, I want to do other shorter things like my podcast. Webinars, where a lot of work, I still do them, but I actually only do one webinar a month and you can use that as lead magnets, you can record those webinars.
You can put them on your landing page. I have if you go to Loess coffee dot com, I actually have a free resource. And it was a recorded webinar that I did one time with an ebook that gives people the opportunity to start studying my message, start studying what I’m about. And again, you could talk about things you’re passionate about. You know, I’m not a huge fan of talking politics and religion, because I think that can polarize some of your audience, but maybe maybe that is something you don’t care about.
So maybe you can go out there and be an advocate for something that you believe in or passionate about that will attract a certain kind of person. Right. So what is your medium? How many times, in fact, if you’re watching this in my Facebook community or if you want to email me, I would love for you to comment below or email me your goals on this. Feel free to even text questions if you’re a texter. I do have a business only text line where you can text questions about this content at six one two seven nine nine eight seven nine one.
So you can reach out to me there, so we’ve covered step number one, we’ve covered step number two, and then how do you monetize it? How do you monetize it? Well, there’s a number of ways that you can do this. But the number one way to start, you don’t have to be great to start, but you do have to have the content to start to be great. How can you repurpose it? How can you repurpose the content, so for what I’ll give you some of my examples.
So I did a pop up podcast in September. That was an audio visual. Of course, I charged a very little bit about it. I put it out there. Now, after the fact, I made it what they call Evergreen and Sarah. Yeah, I think it’s it’s phenomenal. I’ll talk about it because I know a little bit about you and people out there who are trying to do businesses starting things. How do you do all this?
How do you make money doing it so you can sleep at night because you’re paying your bills and potentially making a lot of residual income through this repurposed. Content. So I did the course, granted, it was a lot of work up front. I even did a second time to my first time was Beta, and I told everyone that in fact I charged seven bucks. That’s it. On the back end, I sold it Evergreen, then I decided, you know what, I can do better.
So I did a second 2.0 version. Again, Koppa podcast, I made it audio visual. I made it consumable. That a lot of great feedback. I ended up making an email template the second time around, and that that’s also content that’s consumable and something that can be purchased, it’s evergreen. So you can have free repurpose content. That you share as items of value, I call in my in my practice, in my business of sales success coaching, you always want to have items of value, kind of like that old adage, you don’t want to go to a party without one arm being longer than the other.
Meaning you’re bringing a bottle of wine, you’re bringing some food, you’re bringing flowers. When you’re going to this party called online social media or email campaigns, you always want to be bringing value. And so if you repurpose this content. You know, then you have the ability to share it at a later date. Over sorry, under your ear, overpromising, sorry, you’re under promising over delivering, sorry.
So if you’re giving and you give a little bit more people love that you’re giving so much value through your repurposed contents.
That it’s very likely they’re they’re going to hire you again, I’ve had people spend thousands of dollars with me because they consumed my podcast, they consumed my emails, they consumed the free stuff or even the lo lo lo tiny offer values. Right. And then they ended up spending more money at a later date because I gave them more of my repurpose content for free. I continue to build value, build value, bit of build, give, give, give.
And then I got the money, the income and the really the most important thing, of course I got to serve more clients. Sales is service. And if you don’t know how to make content and then repurpose it and turn it around and sell it and make residual income, make money while you sleep, we call that inbox money. I don’t know if you guys have that. You know, that’s that’s a really key component. To being able to, I think, be healthy, wealthy.
And wives. And so, yes, I’ll I’ll answer your question, maybe offline, maybe we can do a private, private message, anything that I can do to help you guys should be on message on Facebook. That’s that’s my most common place. You can find me on LinkedIn. And if you’re you’re a texter now, I’ll be honest, I’m not a huge texter, but I do have a business only text line that I check two or three times a day.
And you can text me at six one two seven nine nine eight seven nine one. And if you want to check out some of my resources, I have you can have that free stream card account. You can go to five or dotcom and have them help you create that e-book, create that content, create that email campaign so you can start monetizing and dripping on people. Because here’s the deal. I don’t think any of us woke up on March 16th whenever the pandemic said, you know what, I know how to do all this stuff.
I did it. I had to start all over because I was a face to face. So let me know how I can serve you. I hope this was of value today. There’s way more where that came from. And I’ll most likely be doing more podcasts on this and the more pop up podcasts and more webinars. So if you haven’t already, you can sign up to be on my email list at healthy and wealthy and wise dotcom. And then that way you can get in touch with me and actually see my content, you can start seeing.
In my value, give value, give value, and I do have a tiny offer that I monetize, that I sell and give a special deal to only those who are in my email campaign. They get a special offer. So I’ve learned so much over the last six months. Guys, again, you heard me say this before. I am really just six to 12 months. If that ahead of a lot of you out there, if your coaches, if your speakers, if your authors’, your course creators, your podcasters.
You know, I’m right there with you guys. So thanks for tuning in. I look forward to see you guys next time until our next episode. Here’s to your best health, your best well and your best wisdom. Bye bye for now.
