What is shadow work and why should you care?
Carl Jung made shadow work much more known and is something that is often misunderstood as simple subconscious or unconscious mind work.
But it’s MUCH more than that
We have learned that you can’t heal what you don’t feel and you can’t heal what you don’t name!
Shadow work is feeling and naming THAT which we are scared of feeling or experiencing
Which can range from trauma (known or unknown) stuck in our body, emotions (such as anger/rage/fear/guilt/shame etc) and negative thoughts/inner critic
These all serve a purpose
And if we just simply stay positive….it won’t serve us
At least that has been our experience
Many people think reading books or saying affirmations or talking to a therapist doesn’t involve the mind AND the body AND the spirit
Shadow work does involve ALL 3
And we had to learn the hard way on this….and don’t want that for you!
Shadow work is life changing and something you can’t do on your own (at least if you want to have more ease and grace in the process)
